I will never forget waking up in our hostel, well before the sun rose to only walk to the the foot of Machu Picchu and wait for the part to allow people on foot to start hiking to the top. I was with my best friend and another close friend who we met while backpacking South America. With my camera in hand, we hiked to the top where we were some of the first people of the day to see this iconic site. I will forever hold these photos close to my heart.
